+ How can I pay?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, cash, or check. We also accept Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts
+ Do you take insurance?
We have chosen to be out-of-network providers and, therefore, do not take insurance for our services.
+ Why don't you take insurance?
- Insurance companies dictate much of what healthcare providers are able to do and we want to be able to make the best decisions with our patients without the limitations of the insurance companies.
- Insurance companies continue to reduce the rate of reimbursement for physical therapy services, requiring many therapists to see more patients in a day to make enough money to stay in business, meaning they aren’t able to spend much 1-on-1 time, if any at all, with their patients.
- Some services, such as dry needling, typically are not covered by insurance and would create additional costs for the patient. We charge one flat fee so you won’t have to spend more money for certain treatments.
+ What if I have insurance?
Insurance typically has “out of network” benefits that may apply to our services. We encourage you to call your insurance company to determine what your benefits are.
+ Will I spend more money seeing you for my therapy?
- The average physical therapy insurance copay is $45/visit (but can range from $25-75/visit). If you need just 12-24 visits at a standard clinic, you are paying $600-1200 out-of-pocket and only getting 5-6 hours of one-on-one time with the PT (about 20-30 minutes per visit). With that model, you are likely also going to PT 2-3 times a week - putting your cost at $100-150/week.
- Another concern is your time - While at typical PT clinics, direct PT contact time is only 20-30 minutes, you'll also have exercises and modalities (traction/heat/ice) that extend your time in the clinic to 75+ minutes. This adds up to 20+ hours of time out of your life for the duration of your recovery! Our model gives you more hands-on care and requires fewer total visits. Rather than 2-3 visits per week to get an hour with the therapist, our treatment sessions mean that 1 visit per week is often all that is needed. This puts your out-of-pocket costs at a comparable $119-139/week. Instead of extending your visit time with exercises in the clinic, you will be given a home program and information to take with you - saving you precious time during your day. In the end, you'll get better fasterand be back to doing what you love sooner!
+ Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?
No. In VA, physical therapy can be initiated immediately (if medically appropriate) without a prescription. If your condition requires therapy for longer than 60 days, then a prescription from a physician will be necessary. You may also be referred to a physician for further testing if it is deemed necessary after your initial physical therapy evaluation.
+ What should I expect for my first visit?
Your first visit will be an initial evaluation, which will take approximately 1 hour. Be prepared and dressed to move. During this time we will review your medical history, assess your strength and movement qualities, and determine the right plan for you.
